This morning, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new factory of Shanghai Wujiang New Material Technology Co., Ltd., located on Plot 2101 in Huating Town, took place. He Rong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Huating Town, along with leaders from the District Economic Commission, the District Bureau of Planning and Natural Resources, the Construction Industry Affairs Reception Center of the District Construction Committee, and the District Investment Promotion Center, attended the ceremony. The new factory site is bordered by Huagao Road to the east, Chuanjing River to the south, Lubang to the west, and the base boundary to the north, covering an area of approximately 6,202.3 square meters, with a total above-ground floor area of 9,980 square meters. The new factory will serve as a production and manufacturing base for specialty optical cables and a research and development center for high-flame-retardant materials and food-grade masterbatches. Its main clients include high-quality, premium enterprises such as Aptiv and Huntsman. The project has a total investment of 100 million yuan, with an expected annual output value of approximately 200 million yuan after reaching full production. Construction is expected to be completed in July 2023.
In her speech, Secretary He Rong noted that in recent years, under the correct leadership of the District Committee and District Government, Huating Town has steadfastly adhered to the principle that project construction and investment promotion are the "lifeline" of development. By introducing comprehensive agricultural and tourism projects such as Xiangyue Huating and Liudao, the town has actively built distinctive advantages in investment promotion. The Wujiang project, as the first industrial project to secure land and commence construction under the current Huating Town Party Committee and Government, represents a vivid practice of balancing epidemic prevention and control with economic development. She expressed her hope that Wujiang Company would follow the principles of "high starting point, high technology, high added value, and high environmental protection," and would build a first-class project with a first-class team, first-class speed, and first-class quality. This project, she said, should become another vehicle for driving economic development, an important window showcasing the charm of Huating Town, and a new modern enterprise leading the national standard.
